Dr Bobby Yanagawa is currently a Research Fellow and clinical Resident.  Before pursuing medicine, he completed a PhD in Cardiovascular Pathology at the University of British Columbia investigating cellular signaling mechanisms and novel therapeutics related to inflammatory diseases of the heart.  He continued such studies in myocarditis during Post-Doctoral Fellowships at the University of Wales College of Medicine, UK, and the National Cardiovascular Center, Japan.  Dr Yanagawa’s current clinical interest is surgical management of congenital cardiac disease and his research focus lies in better understanding mechanisms underlying normal and abnormal cardiac development.
